The Style Evolution of Dineo Moeketsi

As you grow, so does your style; you ditch the tester trends and opt for wardrobe classics instead. Plus, as you hopefully move up in your career, earning more money along the way, your bank account allows for more fashion splurges.

Dineo Moeketsi will be the first to tell you, she's come a long way since she started out in the industry as a presenter on the music magazine show, O-Access, on Channel O. She has also appeared in a number of theatre productions including Grease, The Fifth Floor and 66676, and starred in the role of Lindiwe in the 10th season of the SABC1 youth drama series Soul City, in 2010.

Her latest romantic-comedy film, "Mrs Right Guy, which was directed by Adze Uga, has secured a fifth spot at the box office this last weekend and managed to pass the R1 million mark.

The movie is about Gugu (Dineo Moeketsi), the walking wounded, who rejects men long before they can get too close to rock her self-imposed exile from love. But to find bliss with the right guy, she must first realise that no man is created equal and that, in love, nice guys not only have staying power but can be just right too.

From the look of all the media coverage, the movie has a lot of  award-winning wardrobes that Moeketsi is seen in.

We look at Moeketsi fashion style and how it has evolved as her star keeps growing brighter and brighter.

Which is your favourite style and why?

#NoMakeUp trend will never be a REVOLUTION

So this week, singer Alicia Keys, started her #NoMakeup "revolution".

She wrote an essay for Lenny Letter explaining her decision to quit foundation and mascara, and in it she says “To fit in or be thought of as beautiful, you have to cover up to be a bit closer to perfect.

"Every time I left the house, I would be worried if I didn’t put on makeup : What if someone wanted a picture? What if they posted it?”

From the looks of images she’s posted on her Instagram, Keys has gone makeup-free. And she has received positive and negative feedback.

I have to say that I wasn't aware that she had so many beautiful freckles. She does look great and I love seeing her real skin tone.

What grabbed my attention was this:  "I hope to God it's a revolution".

Like, what now?

In her essays Keys shares with us that it was her photographer Paola Kudacki who encouraged her to do a make-up free photo shoot for her new music video.

So why is she hoping that this becomes a revolution?

She says she had a wake up call on how she’s spent years trying to conform to what society wants her to be.

"We all get to a point in our lives (especially girls) where we try to be perfect,’ she says, talking about the pressure put on women from an early age to conform to society’s standards of beauty.
‘How about in junior high school? Where all the “pretty” girls are wearing lipstick and eyeliner and mascara,’ she asks. ‘It’s another moment where some piece of you realizes that to fit in or be thought of as beautiful, you have to cover up to be a bit closer to perfect."

Seriously, I'm happy that she is defying the pressure of her industry. It's a huge step for famous women like her!

But let's be real, this #NoMakeUp trend will never be a REVOLUTION.  And it's not even meant to empower women as she claims. Like the rest of her peers, Alicia has a need to stay relevant at whatever cost. Her focus now is to promote her album! And that's what this "movement" is a sales hook.

I wonder for how long she is going to do this for.  And, if she was offered an opportunity to be a ambassador for a makeup company like MAC or Revlon,  would she turn it down?

Who Wore It Best: Kim Kardashian vs Naya Rivera?

Former Glee star Naya Rivera has always been accused of copying the reality superstar, Kim Kardarshian.

Not only did the Glee star go blond shortly after Kim did — Kim has since dyed her hair back to a darker shade — but Naya has also been boasting a bustier look and sharing sexy photos of herself on Instagram (and we all know that Kim is basically the queen of racy social media snaps).

Aside from their similar looks, both women became engaged to high-profile rappers; Kim said yes to Kanye West, and Naya to Kanye's protégé, Big Sean. Currently Naya is married to actor, Ryan Dorsey.

Though they may not have the same body type, they are definitely on the same page when it comes to crop tops and skintight dresses.

So who wore it best? Kim Kardashian or Naya Rivera?

6 Fashion Hacks Every Girl Should Know

Oh how we women wish that our lives could get a bit simpler! Fortunately, there are clothing hacks that can make the life of a fashion enthusiast bearable. Below is a list of clothing tricks we've found in the world wide web that can make life a whole lot easier. Check them out.

No iron?
Don't worry. Use your blow dryer. Dampen your dress or shirt by sprinkling some water and use a blow dryer to remove the creases. Use a hair straightener to neaten out the collar of your shirts in the most efficient manner, Move the dryer quickly, holding it a few inches away from the fabric.

Keep the Shape of Your Tall Boots
If you have owned a pair of tall boots you know that the shaft of the boot loses its shape. To keep in proper shape, just roll up old magazines and slide them into the boots to keep them upright. Stuffing the boots with magazines or newspapers has the same effect as you wearing them and will prevent them from crumpling around the ankles of the boots.

Remove Deodorant stains
Baby wipes are handy for so many things, and they also remove white deodorant marks. If you don't have them, and you find those terrible marks on your clothes, gently rub the stained area with a bit of cloth from the same garment. This will remove the mark.

Avoid Blisters From New Flats
To avoid blisters, wear thick socks and put on your flats. Grab a blow dryer and aim it at the tight areas of your shoes for a couple minutes. While they cool down, make sure to keep your socks and flats on. Try the shoes on once they’re cool, and if they’re still not loose enough, repeat the process again.

Keep your clothes fresh
Once you've ironed your clothes, wait five minutes before putting on your outfit. This simple tactic will keep your clothes wrinkle-free throughout the day.

Stop Runs on your Tights
This is the trick I learned from school. When you find that there is a small run in your tights, dab some clear nail polish over it will prevent it from stretching into a rip. It essentially works as glue, solidifying the surrounding area and keeping the material from stretching even more.

Save Your Old Jewellery
Paint cheap jewelry with clear nail polish to prevent the finish from tarnishing. Apply a clear coat to your new faux gold and silver accessories right before you wear them to protect the finish from fading, tarnishing, and chipping.

Remove Sweat Stains
Spray sweat stains with lemon juice before you wash them. You just need to mix equal parts of lemon juice and water, and rub it on the affected area to clean the stain. Table salt, too, can be used to scrub away the stain. Do not use chlorine bleach to remove sweat stains as it is likely to react with the proteins in the sweat and eventually, darken the stains.

Fix a Stuck Zipper
If you have a stuck zipper on your favorite clothing,  just grab petroleum jelly, and dab some of it on your zipper. Remember to use it sparingly. I once covered my entire zipper in Vaseline. By the end of the day, a lot of weird stuff got clung on to it. Any excess and you’re just waiting for random stuff to stick to your zipper and we all know that that’s not a good look on anyone.

Remove the smell from your sneakers
After spending hours in your sneakers and vigorous workout sessions, they can start smelling. Get some dry tea bags and stuff it into the shoe overnight.
